Make Your Own

If Kids Lit Zines has inspired you to make one of your own, whether it’s about book recommendations or anything else you are passionate about, here are some helpful resources for zine making!

To learn more about zines and to find out how to print and assemble any Kids Lit Zines, check out https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/d3jxyj/how-to-make-a-zine-vgtl. Kids Lit Zines are designed to be constructed as stapled, 5.5”x8.5” booklets, but this link will also tell you how to construct a mini-zine from a single sheet of paper.

Scholastic also has a great blog post on zines specifically written for kids that can be found here: https://www.scholastic.com/teachers/blog-posts/john-depasquale/zine-making-101/

All Kids Lit Zines were designed using the free resources at https://www.canva.com/. Canva is easy to use and has lots of pre-made templates, making it a great site for introducing kids to graphic design.
